Since the beginning of March, we have been delivering hygiene products and medicines to central regions of the country and to areas in the east where bombing is increasing

Personal hygiene products, housing detergents, disinfectants, medicines. More than 15,000 kits have been delivered by our staff to displaced persons in Ukraine. In total, more than 17,000 people have been reached. The distributions made since March, that is, since our intervention in the country began, have mainly concerned the area (oblast) of Vinnytsia, where INTERSOS staff are currently based, and the regions of Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrosk, Luhanska and Mykolaiv.

The delivery of these goods is moving further and further east, closer and closer to the front line. In Kharkiv, a city constantly hit by Russian shelling in residential areas – there are currently between five and 15 bombardments a day – we delivered medicines and medical supplies to civilian hospitals in the region at the beginning of July.

In the first ten days of July alone, we gave displaced families 3,710 kits, including personal and household packages. Along with these activities of distributing hygiene kits, and delivering vouchers for food parcels, projects related to social and psychological assistance, and to monitoring the needs of people housed in public shelter buildings, such as school dormitories and abandoned buildings, are also continuing steadily.
