More than 500,000 people have crossed the border. “Civilian lives must be protected and safeguarded at all times”

INTERSOS teams are currently in Poland and Moldova to launch an intervention in support of refugees from Ukraine. The goal is to provide medical care, protection and psychosocial support to vulnerable people. According to United Nations data, the number of refugees who have crossed the border is escalating and today, February 28th, has exceeded 500,000 people, the majority of whom arrived in Poland. It is essential to ensure assistance and support the effort that countries welcoming the refugees are making.

As humanitarians, we are deeply concerned by the impact of the conflict on the civilian population. Civilian lives must be protected and safeguarded at all times, in line with International Humanitarian Law.
