The master in Humanitarian Logistics, the only university level in Italy, among the few in the world on humanitarian logistics, will start in December at the Polytechnic University of Marche and will see part of the exercises at the UNHRD base in Brindisi.

The Master is promoted and organized by the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Marche, scientific manager of this project, in collaboration with important organizations and humanitarian actors, such as the Italian Red Cross, CUAMM Doctors for Africa, Emergency, INTERSOS, Save the Children Italia, and Think Global. The Master will last one year, will be held in English and is intended for a maximum of 25 participants. There is time until October 26 to submit the application (for info, visit the website www.humanitarianlogisticsmaster.com or write to hlmaster.univpm.info@gmail.com).

To better respond to the new challenges posed by the pandemic, the master has been restructured with a blended formula: practical lessons in the presence will be concentrated on weekends (one per month) and will be alternated with interactive online lessons and e-learning activities. There will be speakers from the university world, expert humanitarian workers and representatives of the companies involved in humanitarian actions.

The last face-to-face session will be an intensive week complete with simulation of a humanitarian intervention, in order to give the opportunity to apply all the knowledge acquired during the Master. There is a final internship of 300 hours for the preparation of a thesis to be discussed at the end of the course. The blended formula will also allow the participation of those who already work but want to acquire skills to start a new career in the sector.
