An overview of what INTERSOS does to help women survivors of gender-based violence in the country

In Lebanon, violence against women has many faces: physical, emotional, psychological, and material (deprivation of resources). Together with the European Union, we work to help women who are survivors of gender-based violence. In our centres, we first listen to them. Because listening is the first important thing to do. Ours is often the only space where they can express themselves and tell what they are going through. Here, we listen to their concerns, their problems, their fears. And we inform them of the services they can access, talk about their rights and work to help them on their path to emotional empowerment.

Rafa Ez Eddein, an INTERSOS aid worker, tells us what INTERSOS does to help women survivors of gender-based violence in the country.
