Training courses in the humanitarian sector from INTERSOS will start in October. They will be held both online and in-person by expert humanitarian aid workers who have been working with INTERSOS for years in emergency settings.
It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the launch of Frontline, the INTERSOS’s humanitarian training program, an initiative that aims at training the next generation of humanitarian workers and strengthening the skills of those already operating in the field.
Built upon INTERSOS’ extensive experience in humanitarian missions across Africa, South America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, this programme offers practical, high-quality training designed to meet the growing demand for professionals equipped to tackle the challenges of the humanitarian sector.
The humanitarian world is constantly changing, characterised by increasingly complex crises and operational contexts that demand a high level of specialisation. Today, being a humanitarian worker often means possessing technical and specific skills in areas like health, logistics, protection, data management, and much more. A general understanding is no longer enough; the need for targeted and in-depth training on specific topics has become crucial to respond effectively to challenges on the ground and ensure high-quality interventions. Our program was created precisely to fill this gap, offering training paths that directly address these new sector needs.
The humanitarian training program Frontline stands out for its flexibility and attention to the specific needs of participants, whether they are students eager to acquire fundamental knowledge to start a career in the humanitarian sector, young professionals aiming to enhance their skills and advance their professional trajectory, or even professionals from the for-profit sector considering a career transition into the humanitarian world who want to understand its dynamics and peculiarities.
The programme offers short, targeted learning courses with online, in-person, and hybrid training options to suit different learning styles and availability. The courses are primarily taught by experienced INTERSOS personnel, who bring their direct field experience into the classroom.
Among the trainers are Alda Cappelletti, Senior Humanitarian Advisor with over 20 years of experience, who will lead a course on humanitarian access; Beatrice Sgorbissa, Medical Coordinator for the INTERSOS Italy Mission, with a course on Humanitarian Health in Italy; Giulia Gemelli, MEAL Advisor, whose course will focus on project monitoring, evaluation systems and information management; and Cosimo Verrusio, Protection specialist and Training Coordinator for the INTERSOS mission in Italy, who will conduct a course on essential strategies for initiating humanitarian projects in emergency contexts.
