We are delighted to share our Annual Report 2024, which outlines a year of intense work alongside some of the most vulnerable people in challenging and often overlooked contexts.
Page by page, this document gathers the stories, the figures, and the challenges we have faced together, with the transparency and determination that have always guided us in humanitarian emergencies.
In 2024, we operated in 23 countries, delivering assistance to 4.9 million people in urgent need. With 247 active projects and the contribution of 3,546 field workers, we managed to reach those most in need in contexts marked by war, health crises, or natural disasters.
As always, we are guided by people: their needs, their stories, and our desire to provide timely, practical, and meaningful responses.
ANNUAL REPORT 2024
A Year of Challenges and Achievements
on the Front Line of Humanitarian Emergencies
A year in emergencies, alongside those most in need
Through the activities we carry out every day – from protection to health, from nutrition to psychosocial support – we tackled numerous crises in 2024.
In Lebanon, we supported Lebanese and Syrian refugee families from the outset of the new conflict, reactivating reception centres, distributing essential goods, and offering psychological support. In Sudan and neighbouring countries, we intervened to help people fleeing the war. In Ukraine, where the war has continued relentlessly for three years, we remained by the side of those who have lost everything, striving to alleviate trauma, loneliness, and violations.
The heart of our work remains collaboration with local communities and partner organisations who, every day, build effective responses with us that are close to real needs. Our integrated approach allows us to act comprehensively: we combine humanitarian protection and health to offer support that considers the many dimensions of vulnerability.
Our protection programmes include psychosocial support, legal assistance, and the management of the most delicate cases, such as those of women who have survived gender-based violence, unaccompanied minors, and all those individuals – particularly women and children – who face crises from positions of particular fragility. In the health sector, we work to guarantee basic care, combat malnutrition, and improve hygiene conditions in all the contexts where we operate.
The 2024 Annual Report captures all of this: the daily work of our teams, the trust of the people we encounter, and the strength of those who never give up.
While we look at the results achieved, we know that the challenges do not cease. In 2025, an estimated 305 million people will require humanitarian assistance. INTERSOS is ready to continue its commitment with seriousness, transparency, and a focus on what truly matters: the dignity and rights of every person.
