HUMANITARIAN ACCESS
This introductory course on humanitarian access equips participants with a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of humanitarian access, of access challenges, key stakeholders, and simple strategies for securing access to affected populations. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and role-plays, participants will understand key humanitarian access principles, identify stakeholders, and develop basic communication strategies to navigate access challenges. The course will be held in English, and the teaching materials will be in English as well.

Introduction to humanitarian access: Understand the fundamental concepts of humanitarian access and why it is important.

DAY TWO
Who are the key stakeholders in humanitarian access? Learn about different actors involved in humanitarian access and how to engage with them.

DAY THREE
What are the basic strategies for gaining humanitarian access? Understand simple tools for the improvement of access.

The trainer: Alda Cappelletti
Alda Cappelletti is a senior humanitarian professional with over 18 years of experience in program management, humanitarian access, and frontline negotiations.
She has worked extensively in complex emergencies across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, leading humanitarian operations in high-risk and hard-to-reach areas. Alda has held leadership positions at INTERSOS, including Director of Programmes. Currently, she holds the position of Senior Humanitarian Advisor, where she is responsible for strategic access planning, and humanitarian negotiations.
She holds advanced certifications in humanitarian negotiation from CCHN and Harvard Humanitarian Initiative
